Cleaning Project
The origins of cleaning can be traced back to 2800 BC. Archaeologists discovered soap-like materials and various cylinders, indicating that ancient Babylonians began making soap around this time. Inscriptions on these cylinders read, "fat boiled with ash." Cleaning was also practiced by other ancient civilizations, including the Egyptians. A medical document from 1500 BC, for example, shows that these people used vegetable and animal oil to make soap-like substances. They also used alkaline soap to wash.
